Sunan Ibn Majah 1168 (Book 5, Hadith 366) #30520
The Commandment of Witr Prayer

SUMMARY: Allah has commanded us to perform the Witr prayer between the 'Isha prayer and the onset of dawn.

It was narrated that Kharijah bin Hudhafah Al-'Adawi said: "The Prophet came out to us and said: 'Allah has increased a prayer for you which is better for you than red camels. (It is) Witr, which Allah has enjoined on you between the 'Isha’ prayer and the onset of dawn.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform witr between Isha and Dawn prayers
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came out to his companions and informed them that Allah had increased a special prayer for them which was better than red camels. This special prayer is known as the Witr prayer, which is an obligation upon all Muslims to perform between the 'Isha prayer and the onset of dawn. This hadith emphasizes on how important it is for us to fulfill our obligations towards Allah by performing this extra voluntary act of worship. It also shows us how much reward we can gain from doing something small like praying one extra rak'ah at night. We should strive to make this part of our daily routine in order to reap its rewards in both this life and hereafter.
