The Prophet's Prayer Habits

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to perform four Rakah before the Zuhr prayer and he would stand for a long time and bow and prostrate perfectly.

It was narrated from Qabus that his father said: "My father sent word to 'Aishah, asking which prayer the Prophet most liked to perform regularly. She said: 'He used to perform four Rak’ah before the Zuhr, in which he would stand for a long time and bow and prostrate perfectly.’"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ أَرْسَلَ أَبِي إِلَى عَائِشَةَ أَىُّ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يُوَاظِبَ عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَتْ: كَانَ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ. يُطِيلُ فِيهِنَّ الْقِيَامَ، وَيُحْسِنُ فِيهِنَّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ

This hadith speaks of the prayer habits of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Qabus from his father who asked 'Aishah which prayer the Prophet ﷺ most liked to perform regularly. She said that he used to perform four Rakahs before the Zuhr prayer in which he would stand for a long time and bow and prostrate perfectly. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to pray with perfect concentration, standing for a long time in each position as well as bowing and prostrating properly. We should also try our best to make sure we are praying regularly according to our faith's teachings so that it becomes part of our daily routine like it was for the Prophet ﷺ himself.
