Looking Up at the Heavens

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ warned people to not look up at the sky too much, or else their sight will not return.

It was narrated from Jabir bin Samurah that the Prophet said: "Let those who lift their gaze to the heavens desist, or their sight will not come back".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ أَوْ لاَ تَرْجِعُ أَبْصَارُهُمْ

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should be careful when looking up at the heavens. He warned us that if we look up too much, our sight may not come back. This is a reminder for us to be mindful of how we use our time and energy. We should focus on what is important and beneficial in life instead of wasting it on things that do not bring any benefit or reward. We should also remember to take care of our physical health by avoiding activities that could harm it such as looking up at the sky for too long. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of how we use our time and energy and reminds us to take care of ourselves physically as well as spiritually.
