This hadith tells us about an important event in Islamic history. It was narrated by Jabir that when the Prophet Muhammad finished performing Tawaf around the Kaaba, he went to the Station of Ibrahim. Umar asked him why he was going there and reminded him that Allah said in Surah Al-Baqarah, “And take you [people] the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer” [ 2:125 ]. This verse shows us that it is important for Muslims to pray at this station because it was where our father Abraham prayed.
