Sunan Ibn Majah 994 (Book 5, Hadith 192) #30346
Keeping Rows Straight for Unity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught his followers to keep their rows straight and orderly, as disorganization can lead to discord among them.

Simak bin Harb narrated that he heard Nu’man bin Bashir say: "The Messenger of Allah used to straighten the rows until he made them like a spear or an arrow-shaft. Once he saw a man’s chest (sticking out) so the Messenger of Allah said: 'Make your rows straight or Allah will create division among you.’"
