Sunan Ibn Majah 960 (Book 5, Hadith 158) #30312
Following the Imam in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet taught his followers to not bow or prostrate before the Imam, but to say the Takbir when he says it and to prostrate when he does.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Prophet used to teach us not to bow or prostrate before the Imam; when he says the Takbir then say the Takbir, and when he prostrates, you should prostrate".

Follow your imam's lead during prayer
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about how we should act during prayer. We should not bow or prostrate before the Imam, but instead wait for him to say the Takbir and then follow suit. When he prostrates, we should also do so. This is a reminder that we must all be united in prayer and follow our leader's lead. It is important that we all stay focused on our prayers and not get distracted by anything else around us. By following this advice from the Prophet, we can ensure that our prayers are done properly and with sincerity.
