Sahih al-Bukhari 3168 (Book 58, Hadith 10) #3027
The Prophet's Last Orders

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) gave three orders to the people before his health deteriorated, which were to turn out all the pagans from the Arabian Peninsula, show respect to all foreign delegates by giving them gifts and a third order which was beneficial.

Narrated Sa'id bin Jubair: that he heard Ibn 'Abbas saying, "Thursday! And you know not what Thursday is? After that Ibn 'Abbas wept till the stones on the ground were soaked with his tears. On that I asked Ibn 'Abbas, "What is (about) Thursday?" He said, "When the condition (ie health) of Allah's Messenger deteriorated, he said, 'Bring me a bone of scapula, so that I may write something for you after which you will never go astray'.The people differed in their opinions although it was improper to differ in front of a prophet, They said, 'What is wrong with him? Do you think he is delirious? Ask him (to understand). The Prophet replied, 'Leave me as I am in a better state than what you are asking me to do'. Then the Prophet ordered them to do three things saying, 'Turn out all the pagans from the Arabian Peninsula, show respect to all foreign delegates by giving them gifts as I used to do'. " The sub-narrator added, "The third order was something beneficial which either Ibn 'Abbas did not mention or he mentioned but I forgot'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey Allah's Messenger ﷺ ; Turn out Pagans from Arabian Peninsula ; Show Respect & Hospitality Towards Foreign Delegates ; Give Gifts .

EXPLANATIONS:
Before his health deteriorated, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave three orders to the people. The first was to turn out all of the pagans from the Arabian Peninsula. This was done in order for Islam to be spread throughout Arabia without any interference or opposition from other religions. The second order was for everyone to show respect and hospitality towards foreign delegates by giving them gifts as he used to do. This is an important lesson in showing kindness and generosity towards others regardless of their background or beliefs. Lastly, there was a third beneficial order that either Ibn 'Abbas did not mention or he mentioned but it has been forgotten over time. These orders demonstrate how important it is for us as Muslims today to be kind and generous towards others while also protecting our faith against those who oppose it.
