EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar describes the sitting posture of the Prophet Muhammad during prayer. He would sit with both hands on his knees and raise his right finger which was next to his thumb while supplicating. This is a sign of humility and respect towards Allah as one is in a state of submission when praying. It also shows that one should be focused and attentive when praying, as raising the finger symbolizes concentration on what is being said in prayer. Furthermore, it teaches us that we should be mindful of our body language when engaging in any form of worship or communication with Allah, as it reflects our inner feelings towards Him.
