Recite special duas when sending salwat on prophets .

This hadith explains the importance of sending salawat or prayers upon Prophet Muhammad and his family, as was done for Prophet Ibrahim. The Messenger of Allah taught us a special dua'a to recite when we send salawat on him and his family. The dua'a is "Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin, kama sallayta 'ala Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid; Allahumma barik 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin, kama barakta 'ala Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid" which translates to "O Allah! Send your grace, honour and mercy upon Muhammed and upon the family of Muhammed just as you sent your grace honour and mercy upon Abraham; You are indeed Praiseworthy Most Glorious! O Allah! Send your blessings upon Muhammed and the family of Muhammed just as you sent Your blessings upon Abraham; You are indeed Praiseworthy Most Glorious!" By reciting this dua'a we can show our love for our beloved prophet by asking God to shower him with His mercy. We should also remember that this same prayer was said for prophet Ibrahim who is an example for all believers in faithfulness towards God's commands.
