Prostrating with Hair and Garment Untucked

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad was commanded to prostrate on seven parts of the body, but not to tuck up his hair or garment.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah said: "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven, but not to tuck up my hair or my garment".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعٍ وَلاَ أَكُفَّ شَعَرًا وَلاَ ثَوْبًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ فَكَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ الْيَدَيْنِ وَالرُّكْبَتَيْنِ وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ وَكَانَ يَعُدُّ الْجَبْهَةَ وَالأَنْفَ وَاحِدًا

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad being commanded by Allah to prostrate on seven parts of the body. We must also remember that all acts of worship must be done in accordance with what has been prescribed by Allah and His Messenger.
