Praising Allah After Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) praised Allah after completing his prayer.

It was narrated that Ibn Abu Awfa said: "When the Messenger of Allah raised his head from Ruku’, he said: 'Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah, Allahumma, Rabbana lakal-hamd, mil’ as-samawati wa mil’ al- ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shay’in ba’d (Allah hears those who praise Him. O Allah! O our Lord, to You is the praise as much as fills the heavens, as much as fills the earth and as much as You will after that).’"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ ـ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of praising Allah after prayer. It was narrated by Ibn Abu Awfa that when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) finished his Ruku, he said "Sami Allahu liman hamidah, Allahumma, Rabbana lakal-hamd, mil as-samawati wa mil al- ard wa mil ma shita min shayin bad" which translates to "Allah hears those who praise Him. O Allah! O our Lord, to You is the praise as much as fills the heavens, as much as fills the earth and as much as You will after that." This hadith teaches us that we should always remember to thank and praise God for all His blessings and mercies upon us. We should also be grateful for all He has given us in this world and strive to do good deeds so we can be rewarded in the hereafter. Furthermore, it reminds us of how powerful God is and how He knows everything even before it happens.
