Reciting Specific Verses During Subh Prayer on Fridays

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to recite two specific verses from the Quran during the Subh prayer on Fridays.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "For the Subh prayer on Fridays, the Messenger of Allah used to recite 'Alif-Lam-Mim. The revelation.’ 32:1 and 'Has there not been over man.’" 76:1
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُخَوَّلٍ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ‏{الم * تَنْزِيلُ }‏ وَ ‏{هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الإِنْسَانِ}‏

EXPLANATIONS:
On Fridays, Muslims are encouraged to attend congregational prayers in mosques. During this prayer known as the Subh prayer, Prophet Muhammad used to recite two specific verses from the Quran. These verses are Alif Lam Mim and Has there not been over man. These verses remind us of Allah's power and mercy over mankind and how He has given us guidance through His revelations in the form of the Holy Quran. This hadith encourages us to take time out of our busy lives to reflect upon Allah's words and be thankful for His blessings upon us. It also reminds us that we should strive to live our lives according to His teachings so that we can attain success both in this world and hereafter.
