Sunan Ibn Majah 768 (Book 4, Hadith 34) #30120
Praying in Sheep's Resting-Places

SUMMARY: It is not permissible to pray in a place where camels rest, but it is permissible to pray in a place where sheep rest.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: "If you cannot find anywhere (for prayer) except sheep's resting-places and camels' resting-places, then perform prayer in the sheep's resting-places and do not perform prayer in the camels' resting-places".

QUICK LESSONS:
Find clean and appropriate places for prayer; Respect towards animals and their resting-places; Be mindful of one’s surroundings when praying.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that when we are looking for a place to perform our prayers, we should not choose places where camels rest. Instead, we should look for places where sheep rest and use those as our prayer locations. This hadith also emphasizes the importance of finding clean and appropriate places for prayer. We must make sure that the area is free from dirt or any other impurities before performing our prayers there. The Prophet Muhammad also taught us that if we cannot find anywhere else suitable for prayer, then it is permissible to pray in the resting-places of sheep instead of camels'. This shows us how important it is to be mindful of our surroundings when praying and how much respect we should have towards animals and their resting-places.
