Patience and Kindness of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was not bothered by a baby urinating on him and instead called for water to sprinkle over the urine.

It was narrated that Umm Qais bint Mihsan said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah with a son of mine who was not yet eating solid food, and he (the baby) urinated on him. He called for water and sprinkled it over (the urine)".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ، قَالَتْ دَخَلْتُ بِابْنٍ لِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ لَمْ يَأْكُلِ الطَّعَامَ فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَرَشَّ عَلَيْهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the patience and kindness of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated that Umm Qais bint Mihsan said that she came to the Messenger of Allah with her son who was not yet eating solid food. During this visit her son urinated on him but instead of getting angry or upset he called for water and sprinkled it over the urine. This shows us how patient and kind he was even in difficult situations like this one. He did not get angry or scold anyone but rather showed us how we should react in such situations with patience and kindness. We can learn from this hadith that no matter what situation we are in we should always remain patient and kind towards others as it is a sign of good character which will be rewarded by Allah SWT.
