The Prophet's Ablution and Beard Care

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen performing ablution and running his fingers through his beard.

It was narrated that Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah performing ablution and he ran his fingers through his beard".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ الْكِلاَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَوْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ تَوَضَّأَ فَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates the practice of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he performed ablution. It is reported that Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari saw the Messenger of Allah performing ablution and running his fingers through his beard. This hadith teaches us that it is important to take care of our beards, as well as to perform wudu properly in order to cleanse ourselves before prayer. It also shows us how much respect we should have for our beards, which are a sign of faith for Muslims.
