The Purity of Water

SUMMARY: Water does not become impure even if someone who is sexually impure has bathed in it.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "One of the wives of the Prophet took a bath from a large vessel, then the Prophet came and had a bath or ablution, and she said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was sexually impure'. He said: 'Water does not become impure'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect cleanliness & hygiene , Use resources wisely , Be mindful of one's actions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that water does not become impure even if someone who is sexually impure has bathed in it. This means that the purity of water remains intact and can still be used for other purposes such as drinking or performing ablutions. The Prophet Muhammad was teaching his wife this lesson when she expressed her concern about being sexually impure and bathing in a large vessel. He reassured her by saying that the water would remain pure despite her being sexually impure. This hadith teaches us to respect the purity of water and to use it wisely for our own benefit as well as for others'. It also reminds us to be mindful of our actions and how they may affect others around us, especially when it comes to something as important as cleanliness and hygiene.
