Clothing of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Aisha bringing out a patched wool Len garment and a thick waist sheet to the people, which were worn by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) when his soul was taken away.

Narrated Abu Burda: 'Aisha brought out to us a patched wool Len garment, and she said, "(It chanced that) the soul of Allah's Messenger was taken away while he was wearing this". Abu-Burda added, "Aisha brought out to us a thick waist sheet like the ones made by the Yemenites, and also a garment of the type called Al- Mulabbada".
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، قَالَ أَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيْنَا عَائِشَةُ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ كِسَاءً مُلَبَّدًا وَقَالَتْ فِي هَذَا نُزِعَ رُوحُ النَّبِيِّ ‏.‏ وَزَادَ سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ أَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيْنَا عَائِشَةُ إِزَارًا غَلِيظًا مِمَّا يُصْنَعُ بِالْيَمَنِ، وَكِسَاءً مِنْ هَذِهِ الَّتِي يَدْعُونَهَا الْمُلَبَّدَةَ‏.‏

This hadith is about Aisha, one of the wives of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, bringing out two garments that were worn by him when his soul was taken away. The first garment was a patched wool len garment and the second one was a thick waist sheet like those made by the Yemenites. It also mentions another type of clothing called Al-Mulabbada. This hadith shows us how much respect and reverence Muslims have for their beloved prophet ﷺ even after his death. It also teaches us to be humble in our clothing choices as it is mentioned that even though he was a prophet, he wore simple clothes like everyone else.
