The Ring of the Prophet

SUMMARY: Abu Bakr sent Anas to Bahrain with a letter stamped with the Prophet's ring, which had three lines engraved on it.

Narrated Anas: That when Abu Bakr became the Caliph, he sent him to Bahrain and wrote this letter for him, and stamped it with the Ring of the Prophet. Three lines were engraved on the Ring, (the word) 'Muhammad' was in a line, 'Apostle' was in another line, and 'Allah' in a third.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show respect for those in authority over you.

EXPLANATIONS:
When Abu Bakr became the Caliph, he sent Anas ibn Malik to Bahrain and gave him a letter that was stamped with the ring of the Prophet. This ring had three lines engraved on it; one line said 'Muhammad', another said 'Apostle', and another said 'Allah'. This shows us how important it was for Abu Bakr to show respect for the Prophet by using his ring as a stamp. It also shows us how much respect Muslims have for their prophets and messengers, as well as God Almighty. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should always strive to show respect for those who are in authority over us.
