Sunan Ibn Majah 329 (Book 1, Hadith 63) #29681
Avoiding Resting & Praying on Roads

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad warned against stopping to rest and pray in the middle of the road, as it is a refuge for snakes and carnivorous animals, and also against relieving oneself in the middle of the road, as it provokes curses.

It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Beware of stopping to rest and praying in the middle of the road, for it is the refuge of snakes and carnivorous animals, and beware of relieving yourselves in the middle of the road, for this is an act that provokes curses'."

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad taught us to be mindful when travelling on roads. He warned us not to stop and rest or pray in the middle of a road because it is a refuge for snakes and other carnivorous animals. Additionally, he cautioned us against relieving ourselves in public places such as roads because this act can provoke curses from others. These teachings remind us that we should always be respectful of our environment while travelling on roads. We should also remember that our actions have consequences; if we do something wrong or disrespectful, we may face negative repercussions from Allah or from those around us.
