Sunan Ibn Majah 284 (Book 1, Hadith 18) #29636
Recognizing Followers on the Day of Judgement

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that he will recognize his followers on the Day of Judgement by the traces of ablution on their foreheads and feet.

'Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: "It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how will you recognize those whom you have not seen of your Ummah?' He said: 'From the blazes of their foreheads and feet, like horses with black and white traces (which make them distinct from others) which are the traces of ablution'." (Hasan) Another chain with similar wording.

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform rituals such as wudu properly with mindfulness and respect for its importance.

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, Prophet Muhammad is teaching us about how we will be recognized by him on the day of judgement. He says that we will be identified by our ablutions, which are a form of ritual cleansing before prayer. The ablutions leave marks on our forehead and feet, just like horses have black and white traces that make them distinct from other horses. This hadith teaches us to always perform our ablutions properly so that we can be easily identified in front of Allah's court. It also reminds us to stay mindful and conscious about our actions as they will determine how we are judged in front of Allah's court.
