Adhering to Righteousness and Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised to adhere to righteousness and that prayer is the best of deeds.

It was narrated that Thawban said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Adhere to righteousness even though you will not be able to do all acts of virtue. Know that the best of your deeds is Salat (prayer) and that no one maintains his ablution except a believer'."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ اسْتَقِيمُوا وَلَنْ تُحْصُوا وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ خَيْرَ أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّلاَةُ وَلاَ يُحَافِظُ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ إِلاَّ مُؤْمِنٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) taught us that we should always strive for righteousness in our lives even if we are not able to do all acts of virtue. He also said that the best deed is prayer and no one can maintain their ablution except a believer. This hadith teaches us the importance of faith in Allah and how it helps us stay on the right path. It also encourages us to pray regularly as it is one of the most important acts of worship in Islam. Lastly, it reminds us that even if we cannot do all acts of virtue, we should still strive for righteousness as this will bring blessings from Allah upon us.
