The Superiority of Aisha and Tharid

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) compared the superiority of Aisha over other women to the superiority of Tharid over all other foods.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah said: "The virtue of 'Aishah over women is like the virtue of Tharid over all other foods".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ فَضْلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ ‏"‏ ‏. وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأَبِي مُوسَى ‏.‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ هُوَ أَبُو طُوَالَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ ثِقَةٌ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ

This hadith speaks about the virtue of 'Aishah, one of the wives of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It is said that her virtue was like that of Tharid, which is a type of food made from bread and meat or broth. This means that she was superior to all other women in terms of her character and behavior. In addition, it also implies that Tharid is superior to all other types of food in terms its taste and quality. Therefore, this hadith teaches us to strive for excellence in our character as well as our actions so we can be an example for others to follow. We should also strive for excellence in whatever we do so we can achieve success and satisfaction with our work.
