Joking with Anas bin Malik

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was joking with Anas bin Malik.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Prophet said to him: "O possessor of two ears!" (One of the narrators) Abu Usamah said: 'He only meant it as a joke'.
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ رُبَّمَا قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ "‏ يَا ذَا الأُذُنَيْنِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ يَعْنِي يُمَازِحُهُ ‏.‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet's joke with his companion, Anas bin Malik. The Prophet said to him "O possessor of two ears!" and one of the narrators, Abu Usamah said that he only meant it as a joke. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible to joke in Islam as long as it does not involve any sin or harm to anyone else.
