Praying for Wisdom

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed to Allah to grant Ibn Abbas wisdom.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: "The Messenger of Allah pulled me close to him and said: 'O Allah, teach him Al-Hikmah (wisdom)".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَال حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، قَال أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ ضَمَّنِي إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ عَلِّمْهُ الْحِكْمَةَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
