The Prophet's Order to Close the Gates

SUMMARY: The Prophet ordered that the gates of a certain place be closed, except for the gate of Ali.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: "The Prophet ordered that the gates be closed, except the gate of 'Ali".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بَلْجٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمَرَ بِسَدِّ الأَبْوَابِ إِلاَّ بَابَ عَلِيٍّ ‏.‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about an order given by the Prophet to close all of the gates in a certain area, except for one gate which was to remain open.
