The Humble Character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a humble and serious person who rarely laughed and did not use kohl.

Narrated Jabir bin Samurah: "The two shins of the Messenger of Allah were thin, and he would not laugh except as a smile, and whenever I looked at him I would say: "He put kohl on his eyes,' but he did not use kohl".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It tells us that he was a very humble and serious person who rarely laughed and did not use kohl. He was so humble that his two shins were thin due to his constant standing in prayer. He would only smile instead of laughing out loud. Whenever Jabir bin Samurah looked at him he thought he had put on kohl but in reality he never used it. This hadith teaches us to be humble like the Prophet ﷺ and to take our religion seriously without being too strict or too lax with it. We should also strive to be content with what we have instead of trying to show off or impress others by using makeup or other things like that.
