Greeting of the Rock in Makkah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was greeted by a rock in Makkah during his arrival.

Narrated Simak bin Harb: from Jabir bin Samurah, that the Messenger of Allah said: "Indeed in Makkah there is a rock that used to give me Salam during the night of my advent, and I know it even now".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، قَالاَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الضَّبِّيُّ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ بِمَكَّةَ حَجَرًا كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَىَّ لَيَالِيَ بُعِثْتُ إِنِّي لأَعْرِفُهُ الآنَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's arrival to Makkah. During his journey, he was greeted by a rock which gave him salaams. This shows that even inanimate objects can be filled with faith and love for Allah and His Messenger. It also teaches us that we should always show respect to all things, animate or inanimate, as they are all creations of Allah and deserve our respect. Furthermore, it teaches us that even if something seems insignificant or small, it can still have an impact on our lives if we open ourselves up to its potential blessings.
