Supplicating Between Adhan & Iqamah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to make supplications between the Adhan and Iqamah, and to ask Allah for Al-'Afiyah in this world and the hereafter.

Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: "The supplication is not rejected between the Adhan and the Iqamah". They said: "So what should we say, O Messenger of Allah ?" He said: "Ask Allah for Al-'Afiyah in the world and in the Hereafter".

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that supplication is not rejected between the call of prayer known as the adhan, and when it is repeated before beginning prayer known as iqamah. When asked what we should say during this time, he said to ask Allah for al-'afiyah which means safety from harm or protection from evil. This hadith teaches us that we should take advantage of this time to make du'a or supplications to Allah for our needs in both this life and the hereafter. We can also use this time to ask for protection from any harm or evil that may come our way. It is important that we remember these teachings so that we can benefit from them in our daily lives.
