The Best Supplication on 'Arafah Day

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the best supplication is the supplication of the Day of 'Arafah, and that the best words to say are "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the Praise, and He is powerful over all things."

'Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet said: "The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of 'Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the Praise, and He is powerful over all things. (La ilaha illallah, waḥdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shai’in qadir).’"

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about an important day in Islam known as ‘Arafah day. On this day Muslims around the world gather together in prayer and supplicate for forgiveness from Allah. The Prophet Muhammad taught us that this is a special time for prayer and supplicating because it carries more weight than other days. He also taught us what words we should use when we pray on this day - none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone without any partners or associates - because these words carry a lot of power with them. We should remember these teachings when we pray on ‘Arafah day so that our prayers can be accepted by Allah.
