“Whenever a matter would distress him, the Prophet ﷺ would say: ‘O Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! In Your Mercy do I seek relief (Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth).’” And with this chain, that he said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Be constant with: “O Possessor of Majesty and Honor (Yā Dhal-Jalāli wal-Ikrām).’”
The Prophet ﷺ also teaches us that even when faced with adversity or difficulty, it is important not to lose hope but instead have faith in God's mercy and power. By turning our attention towards Him through prayer or supplication during times of hardship or distress, we can find solace knowing that He will provide a way out if it is His will. This hadith serves as an important reminder that no matter what life throws at us; God's mercy is always available if only we remember to ask Him for it.
