Supplication for Guidance, Piety, Chastity and Sufficiency

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ supplicated to Allah for guidance, piety, chastity and sufficiency.

'Abdullah narrated that : the Prophet used to supplicate: "O Allah, indeed, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and sufficiency (Allahumma inni as’alukal-huda wat-tuqa, wal-'afafa wal-ghina)".
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الأَحْوَصِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ يَدْعُو ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

This hadith is about the Prophet's supplication to Allah for guidance, piety, chastity and sufficiency. Guidance is asking Allah to lead us on the right path in life. Piety is asking Allah to help us be good people who are obedient to Him. Chastity is asking Allah to help us stay away from bad habits or wrongdoings that would make us feel ashamed of ourselves. Lastly, sufficiency is asking Allah for enough resources so that we can live a comfortable life without having too much or too little of anything. All these values are important in order for one's life to be successful and meaningful according to Islamic teachings.
