Seeking Forgiveness and Repentance

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) often asked for forgiveness and repentance from Allah.

Ibn Umar said: "In one sitting of the Messenger of Allah , one could count that he said a hundred time, before he would get up: 'O my Lord, forgive me, and accept my repentance. Verily, You are the Oft-Returning, the Most Forgiving (Rabbighfir li watub 'alayya innaka antat-Tawwabul-Ghafur).’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for forgiveness from Allah sincerely when one has done wrong

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of seeking forgiveness and repentance from Allah. It was narrated by Ibn Umar, who said that in one sitting of the Prophet Muhammad, he would say a hundred times before getting up, “O my Lord, forgive me, and accept my repentance. Verily, You are the Oft-Returning, the Most Forgiving”. This shows us how important it is to ask for forgiveness from Allah as He is always willing to forgive us if we sincerely repent for our sins. We should also remember that no matter how many times we make mistakes or sin in our lives, Allah will always be there to forgive us if we turn back to Him with sincere repentance.
