Splitting of the Moon

SUMMARY: The moon was split during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and he asked people to bear witness.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: "The moon was split during the time of the Messenger of Allah . So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Bear witness'."
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ انْفَلَقَ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ اشْهَدُوا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about an event that happened during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is said that one night, when people were gathered together in Makkah, they saw a miracle from Allah SWT. The moon split into two halves and then came back together again. When this happened, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked everyone to bear witness to this miracle as a sign from Allah SWT. This hadith teaches us that we should always be aware of Allah's signs and miracles around us and be thankful for them. We should also remember to always bear witness when something miraculous happens so others can learn about it too.
