The Lack of Male Children of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not have any male children who lived among his people.

Narrated Dawud bin Abi Hind: from Ash-Sha'bi regarding the saying of Allah the Mighty and Sublime: 'Muhammad is not the father of any one of your men (33:40)' he said: "No male children of his would live among them".
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قَزَعَةَ، - بَصْرِيٌّ - حَدَّثَنَا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏:‏ ‏(‏ ما كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ ‏)‏ قَالَ مَا كَانَ لِيَعِيشَ لَهُ فِيكُمْ وَلَدٌ ذَكَرٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the lack of male children for the beloved prophet, Muhammad ﷺ. It was narrated by Dawud bin Abi Hind from Ash-Sha'bi regarding the saying of Allah [the Mighty and Sublime]: 'Muhammad is not the father of any one of your men'. He said that no male children would live among them. This hadith teaches us to be grateful for what we have and to remember that even though our beloved prophet did not have any sons, he still left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. We should also remember to always strive to follow in his footsteps and emulate his example in our lives.
