Show mercy even in times of war or conflict; protect human life at all costs; do not take away innocent lives; treat everyone equally regardless their gender or age .

This hadith is about the prohibition of killing women and children during battle. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar that during some of the battles fought by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, a woman was found killed. Upon seeing this, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forbade the killing of women and children in battle. This hadith teaches us to be merciful even in times of war or conflict. We should not take away innocent lives as it goes against Islamic teachings which emphasize on protecting human life at all costs. The values taught through this hadith are mercy, compassion and justice for all regardless of gender or age.
