The Day of An-Nahr

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was asked about the day of Al-Hajj Al-Akbar and he replied that it is the day of An-Nahr.

Narrated 'Ali: "I asked the Messenger of Allah about the day of Al-Hajj Al-Akbar, and he said: "The day of An-Nahr".
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَوْمِ الْحَجِّ الأَكْبَرِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib, who asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about the day of Al-Hajj Al-Akbar. The Prophet replied that it is the day of An-Nahr, which refers to a ritual sacrifice performed during Hajj.
