Jami at-Tirmidhi 3029 (Book 47, Hadith 81) #28678
Seeking Justice on the Day of Judgement

SUMMARY: On the Day of Judgement, the murdered will come with the murderer's scalp and his head in his hand, and his jugular vein flowing blood to seek justice from Allah.

Narrated 'Amr bin Dinar: from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet said: "On the Day of Judgement, the murdered will come with the murderer's scalp and his head in his hand, and his jugular vein flowing blood saying: 'O Lord! This one killed me!' Until he comes close to the Throne". So they mentioned repentance to Ibn 'Abbas, and he recited this Ayah: And whoever kills a believer intentionally then his recompense is Hell (4:93). He said: "This Ayah was not abrogated nor (its ruling) replaced so from where is his repentance?"

QUICK LESSONS:
Be just in your dealings with others

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about a powerful scene that will take place on the Day of Judgement. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that those who have been murdered will come with their murderer’s scalp and head in their hands, and their jugular veins still flowing with blood. They will be seeking justice from Allah for what has been done to them. When asked about repentance for such a crime, Ibn Abbas recited an ayah from Surat An-Nisa which states that whoever kills a believer intentionally then they shall receive recompense in Hellfire. This ayah was not abrogated or replaced so there is no way for repentance for such an act. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all that we must be just in our dealings with others as we are accountable to Allah on the Day of Judgement for our actions here on Earth.
