Major Sins in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ warned against major sins such as associating others with Allah and disobeying parents or taking false oaths.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: that the Prophet said: "The major sins are associating others with Allah, disobeying the parents" or he said, "the false oath". Shu'bah (a narrator in the chain) was in doubt.

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey your parents , Avoid shirk , Avoid taking false oaths .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against major sins, which are considered to be the most serious of all sins in Islam. These include associating others with Allah, which is known as shirk, and disobeying one's parents, known as nushuz. It also mentions a third sin - taking false oaths - although it is not clear if this was said by the Prophet or not. All three of these sins are considered to be very serious and should be avoided at all costs. We should strive to obey our parents and stay away from any form of shirk or taking false oaths so that we can remain on the path of righteousness and piety.
