Sahih al-Bukhari 2996 (Book 56, Hadith 205) #2865
Rewarding Good Deeds During Illness and Travel

SUMMARY: When a person is ill or travelling, they will still be rewarded for their good deeds.

Narrated Ibrahim Abu Isma'il As-Saksaki: I heard Abu Burda who accompanied Yazid bin Abi Kabsha on a journey. Yazid used to observe fasting on journeys. Abu Burda said to him, "I heard Abu Musa several times saying that Allah's Apostle said, 'When a slave falls ill or travels, then he will get reward similar to that he gets for good deeds practiced at home when in good health".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of doing good deeds even when one is ill or travelling. It was narrated by Ibrahim Abu Isma'il As-Saksaki who heard it from Abu Burda, who in turn heard it from Abu Musa. The hadith states that Allah's Apostle said that when a slave falls ill or travels, then he will get reward similar to that he gets for good deeds practiced at home when in good health. This means that even if one cannot perform certain acts due to illness or travel, they will still be rewarded for their efforts and intentions to do so. This teaches us the importance of having faith and trust in Allah's mercy and justice, as well as the value of perseverance despite difficult circumstances.
