Jami at-Tirmidhi 2978 (Book 47, Hadith 30) #28627
Refuting False Claims About Intercourse

SUMMARY: Allah revealed a verse in the Quran to refute a false claim made by the Jews about children being born cross-eyed if their father had intercourse with their mother from behind.

Narrated Jabir: "The Jews would say: "Whoever goes into his wife's vagina from behind her, then his children will be cross-eyed'. So Allah revealed: Your wives are a tilth for your, so go to your tilth when or how you will (2:223)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Verify sources of information before believing something as truth . Follow commands of God . Stay away from what God forbids .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Allah revealed a verse in the Quran to refute a false claim made by the Jews. The Jews believed that if someone had intercourse with their wife from behind, then their children would be born cross eyed. However, Allah revealed that this was not true and instead He gave permission for people to have intercourse with their wives however they wanted. This teaches us that we should not believe everything we hear and should always check our sources before believing something as truth. We should also remember that Allah knows best and has given us permission to do certain things, so it is important for us to follow His commands and stay away from what He has forbidden us from doing.
