The Preference of Pus Over Poetry

SUMMARY: It is better to fill one's stomach with pus than to fill it with poetry.

Narrated Muhammad bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas: from his father that the Messenger of Allah said: "It is better that one of you fill his insides with puss than to fill it with poetry".

QUICK LESSONS:
Prioritize your physical health, Take care of your body, Maintain balance between your physical and spiritual needs

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the preference of filling one's insides with pus over filling it with poetry. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was emphasizing that it is better for a person to focus on their physical health and wellbeing rather than spending time on activities such as writing or reciting poetry. He was teaching us that our physical health should be prioritized over other activities, even if they are beneficial in some way. This hadith also teaches us the importance of taking care of our bodies and not neglecting them in favor of other pursuits, no matter how enjoyable they may be. We should strive to maintain a balance between our physical and spiritual needs so that we can live healthy lives both physically and spiritually.
