The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said “Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy” (Bukhari). Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that by being generous with our time or resources we are actually helping ourselves too because Allah rewards those who give charity generously from their wealth (Quran 2:261).
