Naming a Child and 'Aqiqah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ ordered that a child should be named on the seventh day, and that harm should be removed from him, and an animal should be slaughtered for 'Aqiqah.

Narrated 'Amr bin Shu'aib: from his father, from his grandfather that the Prophet ordered naming the child on the seventh day, removing the harm from him, and Al-'Aqq (removing the hair and slaughtering the animal for 'Aqiqah).
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي، يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ أَمَرَ بِتَسْمِيَةِ الْمَوْلُودِ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَوَضْعِ الأَذَى عَنْهُ وَالْعَقِّ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how to name a newborn baby according to Islamic teachings. It is narrated by Amr bin Shu'aib from his father, from his grandfather that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ordered naming the child on the seventh day after birth. He also instructed to remove any harm or danger away from them such as evil eye or envy of others by reciting certain verses of Quran or supplications known as ruqya. Lastly he instructed to slaughter an animal for ‘aqiqa which is a ritual performed when a baby is born in order to thank Allah for blessing them with this new life. This ritual involves sacrificing an animal such as sheep or goat in order to feed people who are poor and needy so they can benefit too.
