QUICK LESSONS:
Seek advice responsibly
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of seeking advice from others. It teaches us that when someone seeks our counsel or opinion on something, it is a responsibility and trust that we must take seriously. We should not give advice lightly or without thought as it can have serious consequences for the person who asked for our opinion. We should think carefully about what we say and how it will affect the person who asked us for help before giving any kind of response. Furthermore, this hadith also reminds us to be humble and open-minded when seeking advice from others; even if we think we know best in a certain situation, there may still be valuable insight to gain by listening to other people’s perspectives.
