Sahih al-Bukhari 2977 (Book 56, Hadith 186) #2846
Victory Through Awe and Short Expressions

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and was made victorious with awe. He was also given the keys of the treasures of the world while he slept, but he did not benefit from them.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with awe (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand". Abu Huraira added: Allah's Messenger has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (ie the Prophet did not benefit by them).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Allah's Messenger ﷺ was sent to spread his message in a way that would be understood by all people. He used short expressions that carried wide meanings so that everyone could understand what he meant. Additionally, Allah gave him victory through awe which means that his enemies were scared of him and didn't want to fight against him. Furthermore, while he slept, Allah gave him keys to all of the treasures in this world but Prophet Muhammad ﷺ chose not to take any for himself as it wasn't part of his mission on earth. This hadith teaches us many values such as humility, selflessness and courage in facing our enemies without relying on material wealth or power. It also shows us how powerful words can be when used correctly and how we should use them wisely when communicating with others.
