The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught that there are five practices which are part of the natural state or fitra of a human being. These include cutting pubic hair, circumcision, paring the mustache, plucking under arm hair and trimming fingernails. These practices have been prescribed by Allah as part of our faith and should be done regularly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. It is important to note that these practices should not be done in excess or with extravagance as this is against Islamic teachings. Furthermore, it is important to remember that these acts should only be done for the sake of Allah and not for any other purpose such as vanity or pride.
