The Severe Punishment of Disbelievers on the Day of Judgment

SUMMARY: On the Day of Judgment, the disbelievers will be punished severely and their punishment will be compared to mountains.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "The molar teeth of the disbeliever on the Day of Judgment will be like Uhud (mountain), his thigh will be like Al-Baida, and his seat in the Fire will be like the distance of three the likes of Ar-Rabadhah". His SAW statement: "The likes of Ar-Rabadhah" means: like what is between Al-Madinah and ArRabadhah. And Al-Baida' is a mountain like Uhud.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how severe the punishment for disbelievers on the day of judgment will be. It is narrated by Abu Huraira that Prophet Muhammad said that on that day, a disbeliever's molar teeth would be like a mountain called Uhud and his thigh would be like another mountain called Al Baida. Furthermore, his seat in Hellfire would be as far away as three times between Madinah and Ar Rabadhah. These comparisons are used to illustrate how severe their punishment will be. This hadith teaches us to stay away from disbelief and strive for faith so we can avoid such punishments in the hereafter.
