The Hundred Levels of Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) taught that Paradise has a hundred levels, with Al-Firdaus being the highest level from which four rivers of Paradise flow forth.

'Ubadah bin As-Samit narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "In Paradise, there are a hundred levels, what is between every two levels is like what is between the heavens and the earth. Al-Firdaus is Is highest level, and from it the four rivers of Paradise are made to flow forth. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaus". Another chain reports a similar narration.

EXPLANATIONS:
According to the hadith narrated by 'Ubadah bin As Samit, the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) taught that in Paradise there are a hundred levels and what is between every two levels is like what is between the heavens and earth. Al Firdaus is the highest level from which four rivers of Paradise flow forth. This hadith teaches us about Allah's mercy and generosity as He has created a place for believers to enjoy in after death where they will be rewarded for their good deeds on earth and be granted access to all kinds of blessings such as these rivers flowing from Al Firdaus. It also encourages us to ask Allah for His mercy and blessings so we can attain this highest level in paradise when we die.
