Jami at-Tirmidhi 2472 (Book 37, Hadith 58) #28107
Hardships for the Sake of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was willing to go through extreme hardships for the sake of Allah, and he was accompanied by Bilal who had very little food with him.

Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Indeed I have feared for the sake of Allah, such that no one has feared, and I have been harmed for the sake of Allah, such that no one has been harmed. Thirty days and nights have passed over me, and there was no food with Bilal and I forced something with a liver to eat, except what Bilal could conceal under his armpit". This Hadith refers to when the Prophet SAW went out fleeing from Makkah and Bilal was with him. The only food Bilal had was what he could carry under his arm.
