Life's Calamities and Decrepitude

SUMMARY: The Prophet (s.a.w) taught that the life of a human being is surrounded by calamities, and if they are not present, then he will fall into decrepitude.

Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin Ash-Sheikh-Kheer narrated from his father from the Prophet(s.a.w) who said: "The case of the son of Adam is such that he is surrounded by ninety-nine calamities, if the calamities miss him, he falls into decrepitude".

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that the life of a human being is full of calamities or fitnah. These fitnahs can be anything from physical pain to emotional distress, but they are all part of our lives as humans on this earth. If these fitnahs were to miss us, we would fall into decrepitude or weakness in our faith and character. This hadith teaches us to be prepared for whatever comes our way in life and to remain strong in faith even when faced with difficult times. It also reminds us that Allah SWT has given us strength and resilience so that we can overcome any challenge we face in this world with His help and guidance.
